Our Aim

To create a memorial statute to Albert Mckenzies heroic accomplishments for his part in the zeebruge raid on the 23 April (st Georges day) 1918. Albert was the first London Sailor to be awarded the VC by King George we welcome donations from the gerneral public and from all busineses with the full support from the mckenzie family.

On trying to find a fitting tribute it was eventually decided to erect a statue of Albert in Bermondsey.

As you can appreciate,  a project of this size is of a considerable cost but we believe that we can raise  the money from club supporters, local businesses  and local residents.  It is our belief that if we can harness the support of our community we can create a great tribute to Albert  and a legacy for many future generations to enjoy.
